Good Morning,
New member here!
Quick question. I have the demo version and I am loving it, however occasionally while listening to a playlist a song will stop dead about 30 seconds from the end with no crossfade then play 2 seconds of the next song on the list before fading out then play the next song perfectly!!
Do you guys think that this will be fixed when I pay for the full version?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Thanks for the reply, however there is no cure looking at the threads you suggested ( I have already used the search function). I just thought that as some of those threads were 2 years ago a fix may have been issued in a new version. I have had the skipping issue several times today and can't seem to stop it. I have disabled auto dj to no avail.
Hopefully somebody will find a cure to the problem soon

Are you able to reproduce this with the same songs? Does this happen every single time with the same songs? If so, can you provide me with the songs (email support@touchjams.com with the links or files, do not post the downloads here)? I'm thinking to reproduce this you 3 songs at the most should be needed. Not sure if you accidentally posted your message twice.

Sorry, Accidentally posted twice.. Sausage fingers lol. No its completely random. Never the same songs. Last night it happened 3 times over about an hour. Today i have deliberately spent most of the day with jukebox playing and its happened 20 times approx. When it happens I have reloaded the same 3 songs and all is good so its nothing to do with my mp3 tracks. Its very strange.

Regarding: "When it happens I have reloaded the same 3 songs and all is good so its nothing to do with my mp3 tracks"
My guess is that the volume normalization may be causing some timing issues. When volume normalization is enabled (on by default), before a song is played TouchJams performs peak detection on the song, which requires scanning the entire file. So, on a slower machine, this may take longer. Once the peak detection is complete, the value is saved to the TouchJams database so that it doesn't have to do it again. I'd try disabling volume normalization: TouchJams Options/Sound/Volume/Configure Volume Levels, uncheck "Volume Normalization". This may be a bit tricky to reproduce the error as once the peak detection is ran, it won't happen again as the value is stored in the database. I'd try working with a small music library so that you can reset things (Options/Media/Music - Reset and then Update All).
Another thing useful on this post would be your hardware specs, type of HD, CPU, OS and RAM.

Thanks for the info
I have just fitted a 1TB SSD to the laptop which is half full of MP3 tracks and Karaoke files. All I know about the specs is that I bought the machine off a friend who paid £2000 for it 5 years ago. He was in to playing all these high tech games on it so it is obviously a decent machine.
I will try Volume normalization when I get in from work tonight.
Many thanks for your assistance
I'll let you know how I get on!

It still be nice to know why the volume normalization isn't working on your machine. Would you be able to send me a few of your songs where the problem occurred? Please send email to support@touchjams.com if you'd like.

*UPDATE NO 2*
Had a few friends round last night and it happened twice between 9pm and 1am so the problem has not completely gone but its tons better.
I will email you a selection of songs where it has happened although it is completely random- it doesn't always do it on the same song

One thing to check, load ALL your tracks into mp3tag, sort by length and confirm there are no tracks less than 30 seconds long, as this will cause issues with the track fading in & out, check your Cross Fader settings to confirm the total fade in & out. I actually do not use any tracks less than 60 seconds long

Thanks for the suggestion but I can confirm all tracks are over 1 minute.
It is really frustrating as it is completely random

If you have been adding music incrementally, try this. Shutdown TouchJams. Delete ALBUM ART - C:\ProgramData\TouchJams\albumart Delete DATABASE - C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\TouchJams\db\TouchJams.db Restart TouchJams and reimport your music.

Possibly could be solved now.
