I know this has been discussed before, and I've tried the solution that was listed but still have the song skipping problem.....
Problem: Just as described in previous posts, if I add songs to the playlist, it seems to skip songs. And when running autodj, the "playing next" is not always the next song that plays...seems to skip right past it sometimes, but then other times it doesn't skip and the next song played is correct meaning it is the one that was shown as "playing next". The album art always matches what's playing, it just seems to skip songs in an unpredictable order. Oh, and I've noticed there's a lengthy delay between the end of one song and start of the next when it skips....seems like it is timing out or can't find the next song it was supposed to play so after a while it moves on and plays something else.
I've noticed if I have the cross fader turned on, this problem seems to be less but I then I start getting repeated songs sometimes (plays the song twice in a row), so I've been running with the cross fader disabled as that's more annoying. Throwing this additional tidbit out there in case that helps troubleshoot.
I'm running what I believe is the current version (3.5.2.5 std) build date December 23, 2021. It's on a Windows 10 machine, can give particulars if that's any help.
I've deleted the album art folder, deleted the touchjams.db per previous posts, and then re-imported my library...still does the same. Don't know if it's relevant, but when I updated the library this last time in an attempt to fix this issue some of the album art is now missing, showing the standard grey CD. Haven't pulled the files to see if the album art is still attached to the files, but they used to all be present so the fact that some are now not showing might be significant.
Other than this little glitch, I've been running this program for several years and been pretty happy with it....every once in a while I get an inspiration to try to fix these problems.....finally decided to post and see if I can get some help getting this resolved.....
All thoughts and ideas that I could try will be gratefully accepted!

Revisiting this yet again.
I am still having every other song skip in the playlist, whether manually generated or autodj. In reading through various posts, it seems like there are others with the same or similar issue. The "next song" that is shown does not play, there is a couple of seconds of silence like it is searching for the song but then it skips past and plays the next.
This is repeatable and occurs every time on my playlist no matter how it is generated or what playlist I create. I've tried the various suggested fixes but it hasn't helped. I've also provided my system configuration when asked but got no reply since.
Would be great if someone could reply and let me know if there is a solution. Other than this issue, I've been running for several years with no issues. Great program and helps me listen to my collection of over 200 CDs!

If you add music incrementally, sometimes you can get glitches.
Do the following (AGAIN)
Shutdown TouchJams. Delete ALBUM ART - C:\ProgramData\TouchJams\albumart Delete DATABASE - C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\TouchJams\db\TouchJams.db Restart TouchJams and reimport your music.
ALSO check that ALL your music files are longer than 30 seconds, this can be done in MP3TAG, if you find any SHORTER than 30 seconds, DELETE them. The Xfader dose not like files less than 30 seconds, 15 sec fade out, 15 sec fade in.
Reset the Xfader to Default settings.
I am running TouchJams on 5 sytems and it have never had the skipping song issue. More than likely a messed up database, bad music tracks, slow storage location or system issues.
I delete my database + Album art on a regular basis.

You delete your database on a regular basis? In a commercial setting deletion of a database and rebuilding of a database is a lame workaround. We have over 37 workstations in clubs powered by Virtual DJ and have never had to delete and rebuild a database. If that's the case with TouchJams it's definitely a coding issue. A jukebox is supposed to be made to be updated weekly or even daily with updates... incrementally. Do you think that TouchTunes would delete their database when adding new music daily?

I was only making a suggestion to help "bugby", I do what I find is the best for me, Maybe you should stick too Virtual DJ and stop moaning and whinging about TouchJams, when most user find it perfect for their needs !!
