Question about updating library

Does the library need to be updated every time I run TouchJams to have access to all of the files, or is it just to see if there are changes?
It's a long update process. Is there a shortcut?
Maybe this belongs in the "Feature Requests" section...can it update only if changes are detected?

You only have to run a update if you have added files or changed tags ect, there are also settings to do this automatically when TouchJams is starting or running,

Options > Library > (Media Type) > Update on Startup
Options > Library > (Media Type) > (Media Folder/Location) > Edit > Watch for Changes
