New user, software is licensed. Installed on a Dell 18" tablet running Windows 8.1, 64-bit. Only playing music videos. The software keeps crashing by going to "not responding". I couldn't find any logs anywhere. Any thoughts?

Where are your VIDEO files located, internal/external drive, if extenal what type of drive is it ??
What resolution are the videos ?
What is the tablet hardware spec ?
Check your task manager when TouchJams is NOT running, check CPU, RAM and HARDRIVE usage.

Circling back. I also tried running the program in Win7 mode, no change. Lastly, I followed the thread on here about deleting codecs, and installing K-Lite Codec, etc. Followed those instructions precisely, and now the software won't play anything. Crashes immediately.

Another update. I deleted all libraries and only loaded the local drive library which has like 450 videos. It at least started to play a video then stopped responding.

I was going to suggest you use a Local library only, with a limited number of videos. I had a nightmare with some videos the were not encoded properly. What i did to get to the bottom of it was to create a new library with 10 videos in it, try to play these 10 videos and note which ones play/don't play. I then looked at the resolution/bitrate & codec used to encode the video that didn't play. Also some TAG info in the file may cause issues. The ones that would not play or caused freezes always came from disreputable sources !!! The ones that you are having issues with could be re-encoded to the correct standards. If your CPU is a Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz you may struggle with some high bitrate 1080p videos, it's not all that powerful.

Well the bigger problem now is the software is crashing before even playing a video.

There is a possiblity that a video is trying to play when you start Touchjams, Clear your playlist. Disable AutoDJ. Disable the cross fader. Disable Play next song on start up. "Options/system/playlist options"
Make a small library of 10 videos and try that. My take on your issues are, 1 Some faulty videos 2 OS issues (Check your task manager when TouchJams is NOT running, check CPU, RAM and HARDRIVE usage). Tony
