Hi i have just downloaded the demo seems to be a few years old? how different is it to the current version?
Ok so i'm looking for another JukeBox solution as my current jukebox program has many issues not just by me but allot of users and the support is non existent. Is touchjams well supported and reliable ? One feature i'm looking for that is important to me is I have been collecting the Now series of cd's, as many others like dreamboats and petticoats etc. On the main screen instead of seeing every album in the collection i would just like to have a high level ie Now Collection then when you click into it it displays my disks ie 1 to 100 etc is this possible ?

Paul,
If you go to the download links off the News site on TouchJams, there's beta versions of the next version. As for difference between the demo and full version, there is none outside of the demo expiring after 10 days.
As for support, there's tons of information right here on the forums, and I respond daily, with few exceptions, to support email (support@touchjams.com).
For what you are wanting with the drilldown on artist and then albums, this is currently not implemented within TouchJams. This is a feature that I've been wanting myself.

pauldb38 If you wanted all your Now Abums to appear in one particular place, you could ADD an additional GENRE tag to the tracks, ie Pop, Now Abums, Then create a image too suit you, then add this image to the following location, C:\ProgramData\TouchJams\GenreImages TouchJams would assign a touchable/clickable image in the Genre View where you would find all your Now Albums, They would STILL also appear in the HOME View though.

At first glance it looks excellent. What would make me pull the trigger is if i could organise the main screen as described above. It just you dont want to scroll past 100+ ablums of the same ie you might not have a interest in the Now what i call music albums while looking for the album you want. I have allot of albums by the same artist example The Shadows so again i have about 25 albums it would be nice to take them off the main listing and just have The shadows then again you go into the upper level and it display the 25 albums of the shadows etc. I have a touchscreen in my pub shed in my garden and i just want a solution i can organise my music collection. I'm impressed by your software so far. thank you for your reply it appreciated Paul

Thankyou tony but this defeats the object ie i want to hide all the albums and just have one instance on the main screen ie Home Screen Album 1 Album2 ---- Now collection ================[now 1 ] =================[now 2] ==================[now3] looks like its nearly there the genres if there was a way to then exclude the albums from the main home screen it would be sorted.. Thank You for the reply paul

There is NO way you can do 100% what you want to do, from what i saw when running TouchJams in a commercial environment, 99.9% of the users used the search function, i don't think i ever saw anyone scrolling through (Browsing), i suppose it is different for home use. I'm not aware of any jukebox software that will do what you want to do, with the same BRILLIANT interface as Touchjams.

Ah ok well there is a company that does this feature and its called JukeBlaster and basically does the same as touch jams with meta tags but with a difference that you can like you say us a meta tag Now collection and it will go into album view but remove all instances of now what i call music at the main menu, Sadly it very basic software the last time i looked. Media Monkey does the same sort of thing as well. I'm not knocking touch jams at all i'm actually considering buying it as the demo seems to work great and the layout is simple, hats off to the designer , This is just one feature that would make it perfect. Like i say its for my PUB Shed so slightly different from a home senario. Paul

I have some of the Jukeblaster software, i use Coinkit to talk to my coin acceptor, I know Steve pretty well, i found a few security flaws for him. I did try the Pub Jukebox demo, I did not like it, it has some really good stuff in it but i found it a bit too non user friendly to get going with it.

That was a interesting read tony, i found pretty much the same didn't like the look and like you say not very user friendly, think most people with large music collections just want to point and go. I'm just annoyed at myself as i bought 3 licences for a similar jukebox but there's no support for it ie everything thats faulty is user error. Touchjams on the other hand looks fantastic and it actually works. I downloaded the demo yesterday set it up and left the jukebox running over night and it was still working this morning. What's more amazing is i pointed it to my Nas music share so the files wasn't even local and it was flawless. On my pub shed jukebox i have all my files local so it should run even better. Paul

I tested all sorts of software as it was going into a Pub, full of drunken people, acting like idiots, so i went for "Idiot Proof", it worked very well and made us a load of money aswell. TouchJams was a great investment, i actually think it's too cheap, for what it does. It's worth the effort getting your tags right. I test my new music over a network also, with no hiccups. Have fun and don't be scared to ask for a little nudge in the right direction if you get stuck.

Aww thanks tony, i have it on a test laptop at the moment and it seems to be solid, i will test it on the bar touchscreen setup and if all works fine i will be investing. Thanks for your help. The board seems full of info that's helped me so far and got it working great. Paul

The jukebox playlist, is the tracks you have added to play via the TouchJams interface, the user playlist is a playlist you have created.
