I was a longtime user and contributor to the PC program DWJukebox. Since its demise, there is no viable "Singles" based jukebox. I'm wondering if you've ever considered adding that to your program. Your program works very well, especially as a touchscreen jukebox for home use. Let me explain how I could see "SINGLES" happening on your screen.
1) You would randomize all tracks in a users collection.
2) The interface would continue to show the grid of album covers, but each album cover shown would be a single song from that album, with the text including the track name...again, presented in a random order so every time you fire up the jukebox or select "SINGLES" the screen would fill with a mix of random songs from the user's collection. (Artist....Albums....Singles) is what I envision for the top of the screen),
3) The user would be able to build a queue of songs by selecting a few, just as on a vintage electromechanical jukebox. Instead of titlestrips, they would see album covers with the track name.
4) The "DOWN ARROW" button would reveal another screen of random songs, each time you press it. As each screen was presented, a user could continue to queue up music tracks that interest them.
The total number of tracks to choose from could be limited to make the subset database manageable. Maybe 500 songs total for use users with 16,000+ songs in our collections? But it would be crucial to have a different, random 500 songs each time you select "SINGLES".
Why?
It's still the best way to explore your own music collection and play an assortment of songs that you're interested in hearing. Searching for artist/track is well and good, but the original jukeboxes were, and still are, fun to browse to find a gem to play. Especially when you combine it with credits and spending your credits wisely.
Is it just me, or would anyone else see this as a very good major feature addition?
