Hi, i also run Touchjams in a commercial venue with a coin mech, even though i have not had this specific issue, i may be able to help you troubleshoot it.
Could you copy and paste my questions and add your answers in your reply, it will make it easier for me.
First of all, our jukebox in the pub is being use by people who have had a drink, we have people coming to the bar say, "I put a pound in and my music hasn't come on"
A couple of obvious reasons,
1. They didn't hear it playing, talking, too pissed ect.
2. They went outside for a smoke, so they didn't hear it.
3. They forgot what they put on.
The first thing we do when stuff like this happens is put a coin in, to confirm Touchjams is registering the credits and try their tracks to confirm the tracks are added to the Jukebox playlist & comfirm the tracks play, 99.999% of the time the tracks play ok. If they don't play for some reason, i look into it further.
Possible reasons i have found for tracks not playing.
1. Track faulty, just won't play.
2. Track is SHORTER than the Cross fader time, ie in my case is less than 15 seconds in length.
3. The track has a glitch in it and won't allow the NEXT track to play, sort of freezes the Toucjams interface.
4. Wrong tag information, so showing the correct info on screen, but wrong track playing.
Question time,
1. Do you have a specific set of albums for your AutoDj library or is all the music included in the AutoDj library ?
Ours for example only has the Now That's What I Call Music albums in it, just for background music (4500 tracks)
I have actually confirmed that ALL 4500 tracks play and have no faults, it took 10 days playing continuously lol !!!
2. In the AutoDj settings, What do you have set for Source, % wise ?
We have our source set to 100% library. All others at 0%.
3. Do you have AutoDj set to timed or continuous ?
We have ours set to continuous.
4. Do you use the cross fader ?
We use the cross fader.
5. Do you have the same music on both machines and is it the same tracks/customers or just random events that cause your problem ?
6. Does the problem occur more often AFTER a music update ?
7. Do you get any Touchjams interface freezes ?
8. Has your problem always been there or did it appear after an update, Touchjams, Operating system or Drivers ?
9. Are both jukeboxes running the same Operating system and hardware ?
10. When was the last time the Touchjams database was DELETED, not reset ?
11. What version of Touchjams are you running on BOTH machines & what Operating systems ?
12. Are both jukeboxs connected to the internet on start up ?
13. I assume you use "Protected Mode", are the "Add to user playlist" or "Play Next" or "Play Now" buttons visible when a customer chooses a song to play ?
That will do for now, i will think of some more soon.
Cheers
Tony
