TouchJams does off multilingual capabilities to the main screens, but not the Options windows.
To add a language to TouchJams, the first that you want to do is setup a hotkey which will give you access to the properties of all controls. To do this:
1) Go to Options/System/Key Mapping
2) Hit the Add button
3) For the Keyboard Key, select a key from the drop down list, say NUMPAD 1. For the Function, select Control Properties - Text (this may be called simply Control Properties depending which version of TouchJams you are running).
4) Hit the OK button.
To use this hotkey, simply mouse hover over the control (button, text, etc.) and hit the hotkey.
The second to do is to activate the language selection button(s). To do this:
1) Go to Options/Display/Language
2) Check the Show Main Language Button, do NOT check the Show Search Language Button, there will be more about this later.
3) Close out of the options.
Now, a language selection button should appear under the Options button. By default, this button should be labeled Espanol, as TouchJams comes with languages English and Espanol by default. When you hit the language selection button, the main window should toggle between English and Espanol.
Thirdly, we now want to actually add the new language to TouchJams. To do this:
1) Go to Options/Display/Language
2) Hit the Manage button
3) Select the Add button
4) For the new language to add, select it in the New Language drop down list.
5) For the Template Language, you can either leave it as English, or select from a list of already defined languages setup by the user.
6) Hit the OK button.
7) Close out of Options and go back to the main screen.
Now, every time the language button is hit, the selected language will be what the button was labeled, when hit. For example, if the button is labeled English, when it is clicked, the screen will update with English language.
Now, it's time to start the translation process.
Using the language button, toggle through until you activate the language which you want to translate. To verify that the intended language is active, hover over a control, say the Options button, and hit the hotkey which you setup previously. If you configured the hotkey correctly, a dialog should appear with the title indicating the active language.
With the correct language activated, simply hover over the button/text that you want to translate, and hit the hotkey. In the dialog that appears, make sure the Default radio button is selected, and type in the translated text under the Normal edit box. When you are done with this, hit the OK button, and the changed text will appear. Simply repeat this process for all buttons/text that you want to change.
