So, I have a laptop with a 128gb flash drive full of music {15000 songs}. On start up, touchjams hangs as it scans. No biggie it takes about a minute. Once in though, it freezes and becomes non responsive. I read on the forum that this could be caused by the art cache not being %100. So I checked under options. Showed art cache art 46%. So I waited a bit. It counted down to 0% instead of going up to 100%. And it was not responsive I had to kill the program
This happened again on the next boot as well. Is this caused by the flash drive? Anyone have experience running their library from a large flash drive? Or am I doing something out of sorts here?
Thanks

Hi, I personally would NOT run my music from a flash drive. Try copying your music to your laptop and run it from there, i'm sure you will find it works very well from your hardrive.

Hi, thanks for the response. I've since used an external hard drive and that runs fine. So it's got to be the flash drive is too slow even though it's usb 3.0. I don't have enough room on my little windows 10 touchscreen hard drive unfortunately. I bought it specifically for touchjams since it has a 12" touch screen.

Hi, yes, i tried a USB 3 flash drive and it wasn't too good. External hardrives are a LOT faster than USB flash drives. It normaly takes me 18 mins to load around 50,000 tracks on an internal sata drive, but once the library is loaded and the album art cached, Touchjams works great, no lag at all. So i would say it would take at least 30 mins to scan 15,000 on a USB 3 flash drive.
Hope this is of some help Cheers Tony
