Duplicate tracks perhaps ??
A well organised collection of albums/tracks is a MUST with any Jukebox software..
I run 4 test PC's using external drives, 50,000 tracks on each, never had any issues with them and they are old 5000 rpm drives.
I even run the tests using network connections using slow 100m/b cards, never had any lag or repeating tracks..
These network tests are carried out using Music, Karaoke and 1080p HD videos.
So personally, i would have a good look at how you have your libary set up and check for any duplicate albums/tracks and wrong tags.
Also, have a look at taskmanager while TouchJams is running and see what CPU & RAM is being used, below are some of my results:
Toshiba Laptop 64 bit
Intel Dual core T5800 @ 2.00Ghz
20 to 30% CPU, 70% on Xfader, 28% RAM, 1.09Gb
Biostar Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 32 bit
47 to 50% CPU, 86% on Xfader, 31% RAM, 1.01Gb
i5 2405s 32 bit
7 to 10% CPU, 26% RAM, 920Mb
i7-7700 3.6 ghz 64 bit
4 to 5% CPU, 7% RAM, 2.52Gb
Hope this is of some help.
Cheers
Tony
I think it's all settled for now. I have gone through my library multiple upon multiple times. I fixed all tags and duplicates as well when I first started. The thing is, if it were merely duplicates, then touchjams would display that song title ….in the case of my problem it would display the next song as "now playing" but it would be playing an entirely different song. I believe it's a mix of a cheap windows 10 pc, and perhaps a problem with the hard drive. It could be as simple as enabling write cache as I hadn't an idea it wasn't checked to begin with. The ssd works great after enabling that.
The perfectionist I am, I'll be upgrading to a more powerful device in the coming months.
Thanks for the help
