Here is my project.. to re-purpose an old 1942 Philco floor radio that had been trashed.... Will use a Win 10 touchpad as the touchjams interface. Internals will be an old 2.1 surround sound stereo I already have.... The one in the pic with the tablet installed is one my son already restored using a raspberry pi. My radio is a bit different but will work fine.. Thoughts all?? Attachments:

I did something similar back in 2016. I just couldn't figure out how to make the raspberry pi work with any software, so I sold it.
Fast-forward three years, and I was talking to a fella at work, telling him how I regretted selling it because I was so close.
So I started looking for another Philco cabinet, but it seems like everyone around here (Ohio) thinks their old broken radio is worth $300, so I decided to build my own, loosely based off a real jukebox.
It's turning out well!

Been there, done similar, but what I do these days is just put a very, very good smart speaker (Apple Homepod for "Siri...), Google HomeMax for "Ok Google...", Echo Studio for "Alexa, Computer, Echo....". These have line-in jacks and can serve both for home automation and general "Alexa" type use as well as very nice sounding speakers for the build. I actually have a console radio where I have an Echo Dot doing line-in to a Google HomeMax, and I can say 'Alexa...' or 'OK, Google' to the same radio and use the best of each's features. It's not a jukebox, just a vintage radio where I've lit the dial and put in the smart speaker(s).
Super simple, super useful.
You can even have the Jukebox be your laptop and bluetooth connect to the radio and leave it looking 100% vintage but playing Lady Gaga, etc. In doing so, there's no need to damage the radio further. All that's really involved is moving the existing speaker out of the way.
