I have an 3 albums titled 100 greatest hits of the 70, 80 and 90ies which give me a "load sound error" when I try to launch with touchjams (the songlist, cover are correct and display properly).. These songs will play on my computer with any other media player, winamp, VLC etc... so I'm not sure why touchjams is having a problem with these...They are in mp3 format Any ideas on what I should look for in the tags? or a possible setting somewhere.. Thanks

"I have an 3 albums titled 100 greatest hits of the 70, 80 and 90ies which give me a "load sound error" when I try to launch with touchjams" If you are getting "load sound error" on tracks, it has NOTHING to do with the tagging.
"These songs will play on my computer with any other media player, winamp, VLC etc.." You need to check that the tracks will play with other programs on the computer where TouchJams is INSTALLED.

Maybe something with the file name structure of the folders or the file itself. Are there any special characters in the file names or are there folders within folders within folders that may be causing the issue? I have over 85,000 tracks in Touch Jams and Album Player and never have had an issue in opening a file.
My folder structure is...
All albums are filed under the artist folder with a sub folder for each album.
\\jukeboxmusic\Artist (Individual Artist Names.. Deep Purple, Bob Dylan, Santana etc.) \\ (Year) Album Name
\\jukeboxmusic\compilation\album \\ (Year) Album Name
\\jukeboxmusic\soundtrack\album \\ (Year) Album Name
For Singles \\jukebox\singles\filename.flac
All of files are edited with the minimum information as possible.
Artist Album Artist (Blank if soundtrack or compilation album) Album Track # Title Year Album Art (cover art added to each file)
All other info I leave blank
This was alot of work but in the end made managing a large collection of audio files easier to maintain.

You need to answer this question first.
"These songs will play on my computer with any other media player, winamp, VLC etc.." You need to check that the tracks will play with other programs on the computer where TouchJams is INSTALLED.
"Maybe something with the file name structure of the folders or the file itself." As far as file structure is concerned, i personally have not come across any limitations or issues.
"Are there any special characters in the file names or are there folders within folders within folders that may be causing the issue?" None that i'am aware of.

Just an update, I have downloaded the zip, I extracted the zip, I moved the mp3s to my TouchJams library, I imported into TouchJams, I have played the first 1 minute of ALL 100 tracks, WITH NO MODIFICATIONS. They have played without a problem. YOU STILL NEED TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION !!!"These songs will play on my computer with any other media player, winamp, VLC etc.."You need to check that the tracks will play with other programs on the computer where TouchJams is INSTALLED ?

Out of curiosity, What is the file format that you are trying to play? mp3, mpa, mp4, flac, ape etc...

Are you going straight out of sound port? bluetooth?

I think it's a file transfer issue, that's why i have asked him loads of times to check the mp3 playback on his TouchJams machine, i'm done with doing any more testing............

Tonyneen, 1st I will tell you again, thanks for your previous help... Yes, they will play on my computer with any music player VLC, Winamp, Windows media player with has touchjams installed too.. but will not play through the touchjams software itself on my computer, Nore will they play on my Touchjams jukebox which is a separate machine (I own two licensed versions of touchjams). And lastly I was not asking you to fix anything (sorry if that was misunderstood) just see if they would play for you which they did... so case closed...
WTmac, They are all MP3.. Its either a transfer problem, file corruption or something else.. The last problem Tony helped me with was a tagging issue on a different album which I thought this might be too.. but probably not since they play for him. I still believe the support section is for questions about playback, file errors etc.... sorry if I overstepped...

Ok I found the problem .. The songs folder title was VA - 100 Greatest Hits of the 1970s (2020) Mp3 320kbps [PMEDIA] * where was an asterix on the end... This little punctuation was causing the sound load error problem so it wound up being a file naming problem.. Once I removed that off of all my filenames touchjams scanned them as it should.. Who knew such a little thing would cause a sound load problem. When Tony said he extracted the Zip and moved the individual file into his song library I knew he did not use the folder name so that made me look closer at that naming.... Thanks all

Pleased you got it sorted.
This is your folder name,
VA - 100 Greatest Hits of the 1970s (2020) Mp3 320kbps [PMEDIA] *
This is my extracted folder name, The * has changed to 2 squares, must be changed when you zip it up.
How did you manage to use an * in the folder name, Windows does not allow it. I have just loaded the Torrent file up and it shows 2 squares in windows explorer and my torrent client.
