Hello all. I have just purchased the TouchJams software in order to migrate from Album Player on my home Jukebox.
1) So far I am liking the software but have had a few bumps along the way in getting this setup. I cannot get the screens to rotate between album view and now playing and charts. I have tried the settings under timer but it never switches when the time elapses.
2) I like the admin view the best. Being that the software is used in home I like the Stop, Play, FF RR buttons on the bottom of the screen and the ability to Play, Play Next and to Add All Tracks. In exploring the Protected mode I lose the Stop Play Controls and the ability to Add all tracks Play Next etc. Is there a way to keep these buttons in protected mode and take away the option button only. I am using the Fire Skin 1920 X1080.
3) Video / Audio sync. - I have over 1000 music videos in MP4 format. The audio does not sync with the video. I have tried changing the setting from 0 to 500ms under the Video section of the settings but nothing improves the audio sync.
4) For audio, the software rocks. Plays all files, WMA, MP3, MPA and FLAC files without a hitch. Only issue is when adding Video and Audio files together in playlist, the transition from Video to Audio sometimes causes the audio track to not play correctly. This is not consistent but has happened on a few occasions. Also is there any sort of replay gain control in the software?
5) Does the software have to check the activation status when starting up via the internet. The system I have is not going to be online.
That is it for now. I have had the software 2 days and am in process of updating tags in all 85000 music files as I put them TouchJams. I believe this is going to be a substantial upgrade to the Album Player software I was using prior and look forward to being part of your community of users. Any help is truly appreciated.
Thanks William.

William, for the video portion, I think you're hooped. It's been said a million times over on here, because it's a 3rd party codec, there is no mixing of video available. So... there won't be any help on that front. I'm very frustrated at this point as it is 2019 and video has become so widely used by patrons and home users, I'm hoping to see a solution one day but am not holding my breath... it's the main reason we have not purchased more copies and won't until this bug is addressed.

Answer to # 1Reset to default settings, see TouchJams Help Program Options > System >Timers, it will rotate views after 3 minutes, if you DONT touch the screen. The changed time settings have never worked for me. Answer to # 2User Group Control Properties, see TouchJams Help, you can hide or unhide anything you want. TouchJams has 3 built in User Groups: Administrator, Protected, and Supervisor. For each of these groups, all controls (screen elements) can be shown or hidden, for each view mode (Album, Artist, Now Playing, etc.). The fastest way to configure these user group controls is to setup a hotkey within TouchJams and then simply hover over a screen element, hit the hotkey, and then a dialog box will appear. *Important: The only way that the above dialog will appear is through a hotkey. To setup the hotkey, go to Options/System/Keyboard Mapping, and add the keyboard mapping "User Group Control Properties". For help on Keyboard Mappings, (Program Options > System >Keyboard Mapping). Once this hotkey is setup, you can simply hover over a screen element and hit the hotkey. Answer to # 3Could be a codec issue, read this thread (http://touchjams.proboards.com/thread/166/having-problems-touchjams-video-playback) Answer to # 4 Turn AutoDj off and try that, i have had it a few times, i can't reproduce it. Regarding "Replay gain control" see TouchJams Help > Misc > Volume Normalization.
Answer to # 5 see TouchJams Help, FAQ >Program Activation/Verification. Cheers Tony

Tony, thank you for the guidance. I was able to get the screens to rotate, show and hide buttons on the skin, have not tackled replay gain, going to have to look further into the option available. The video is stumping me. Album player used the same codecs as touchjams for video playback. Sync with audio is perfect with the other app so I don't believe it is a codec issue with k lite. I have it working close to what I want it to do. I look forward to using it everyday once all music and video is imported. Until then I will continue to investigate all of its capabilities. I have not looked into the last thing of verifying online but sure I will get that straightened out. Thanks again.

It's a great piece of software, i use it on 2 machines at home (Music & video) and on a Jukebox in a pub (Music only), TouchJams has alot of features and is VERY stable. I really would try my guide regarding codecs, i thought i knew a lot about codecs, but i was having problems in the beginning !!!!
Cheers Tony

Ok so far so good. 22000 files have been tagged correctly, only 80 some odd thousand to go. I have edited the skin to have what i am looking for in protected mode. Would like to change the background of the second screen but have not found where that is yet. Also noticed that the volume controls that of the pc and not that of the app. Is there a way to keep the volume level of the pc to stay at one set level without the software using it to control volume? I would rather the software change the level in which the signal is presented to the pc. I see there is a setting but it is greyed out. Any help appreciated.

When I use the skin to turn the volume up or down it is changing the volume of the PC itself. I would hope to be able to change the volume from touchjams only leaving the pc at a set output of say 65% and having the software playback level be the variable and not the computer. There is a setting I think that is under sound that has an option grayed out. Going from memory right now by I believe it is labeled internal. Wasn't sure if that controls how the skin controls volume. Again grayed out and cannot figure out why.

I'm not 100% about the answer i'm going to give you. That is how it is supposed to work, you change the volume in touchjams, this changes the PC volume to allow the PC sound card to change the volume of your speakers. How else could it work

Album player worked differently. It adjusted the output of the software leaving the pc volume set at a fixed output. It helped control audio gain. It also used individual gain control per track so that the output was the same level when going from file to file. It was a nice feature. What was not a nice feature was the constant crashing due to memory leaksc which was reason for me to try out this software. I actually like touchjams better and I will work through what it can or cannot do. Its been up running for 4 days and not one crash. That to me is awesome in itself after 10 years running the other software. Both have great features. This one is way more stable. Album player is more visually appealing. Do you know why under audio setting the internal player slide bar is grayed out and set to max? Thanks for all input and again looking forward to fully using software once all tags are updated.

I just saw the setting. When crossfade is enabled the internal slide is disabled. Take off crossfade I can then set the slide bar and internal player audio setting. Is there a reason why this disables crossfade?
