I use Windows 7 64bit, should be the same on other OS's.
Had i play around trying to "Break" my existing TouchJams installs I managed to do this by installing some extra codecs. Too get BACK to working TouchJams (Videos), this is what i did.
Remove ALL codecs previously installed, (Programs and Features).
Restart PC.
Run codec tweek tool. (https://www.codecguide.com/download_other.htm)
Goto Codec and Filter Management to confirm all non Microsoft codecs have been uninstalled.
Disable any remnents left. (Non Microsoft)
Download K-Lite Codec Pack MEGA. (https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm)
Install K-Lite_Codec_Pack_xxxx_Mega.
Select Normal install, select EVERYTHING on "Amount of components to intall"
Next, Next, Next, Next..... I didn't change anything else.
Restart PC.
Start TouchJams, DISABLE AutoDJ.
Exit TouchJams.
Restart TouchJams.
Reset Video Database, update Video Database.
Tested Mp4, WMV, AVI, these work.
BTW VLC has it's own "Private Codecs" (Internal). That's why most of your videos will play outside TouchJams.
Let me know how you get on.
Cheers Tony

Thank you for taking the time to do this, i followed your steps, and on adding my video library, it scanned the folder and found 65 music videos, when i go to the video tab of the jukebox however, there is nothing in there!...any idea?

ok, after following your steps this morning, i can confirm that every video i chose did play, this was tested on the laptop that touchjams is used on..However..i took into into the shed and there its connected to a touchscreen monitor via the d sub (blue), and the second monitor is connected to HDMI, the laptop screen is set to go off...i start up Touchjams, and music is fine, but as soon as i select a Music Video, it does nothing for about 5 seconds and goes straight off to desktop everytime a video is selected?
What can be causing this odd behaviour, as its onyl using a different screen? Thanks for your tutorial btw

Not sure about your HDMI/VGA issue, i assume it has something to do with the resolution difference between your 2 monitors. Set your skin size to the resolution of the VGA monitor and take it from there...
PS. Windows tends to set multi monitor configurations to the resolution of the lowest resolution monitor. Also you will have to set up your dispays in TouchJams.

ok i have abandoned the idea of a second monitor, so now all videos play on the touchscreen monitor, which is good, but after having the jukebox ob for over 7 hours, i tried a vidoe and it threw up a out of memory warning box. no idea on that one

Hi, yes mine are all in sync, there is an adjustment in options, system, video settings. Are they in sync in an external player ??

Yes They are in sync with the other jukebox software package I have. They are also in sync with Windows media player. I use the same k lite codecs with album player as I do with TJ. The audio is slightly off, enough to be noticeable with TJ but perfect with the other two applications. What are your settings in TJ for audio sync?

The ONLY way i could get the videos to play and be in sync in TouchJams was to set up the system EXACTLY as it is layed out in my original post on this thread. I use -200 ms in TouchJams.
Send me a download link to your WORST out of sync video and i will try it on my system.
Just an after thought, i don't have time to go into this, but i sometimes notice on TV's and monitors a sort of lag between video and audio, this can be very distracting. It's all to do with resolution, Video framerate and refresh rate, 50hz Vs 60hz, so you would see more "lag" if you played a 24fps video on 60hz than what you would see at 50hz, have a google !!!

If you're having difficulties playing video within TouchJams:
1) Windows 10 - try running TouchJams in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
2) All versions of Windows, K-Lite Full and Mega come with the GraphStudioNext utility, try playing a problematic video with this. If this utility is unable to render the video, most likely you should update your video drivers.
