Ive recently decided to add music videos to my touchjams, all the vids work via WMP, i ahve installed the k lite codecs and they appear in the jukebox, but when i press play, the music starts playing but the video does not?, sometimes the screen will have a grey box instead but most of the time its just the music?
Any ideas? thanks

Did you reboot Windows after installing K-Lite?

hi, yes, ive just come to try again, ive hooked up to a second monitor, karoke working a treat, but videos are just a grey box and sound only?

ok, so i reinstalled k lite codec pack, and not its not even playing the music never mind a grey screen, its coming up with load sound error, its late now, so giving up for the night, how come codecs arent bundled with the jukebox so this does not happen?
can you offer some help please?

looking through this forum it seems i aint the only one to have issues with video playback, and it also seems like there is no fix for it, its a pity that nothing is being done to address this as its a decent piece of software....

What OS are you using? RAM? DirectX version? (use dxdiag.exe to check this) Which version of K-Lite did you install? Did you use all the default settings on K-Lite install? Can you email me one of the videos giving you trouble? (support@touchjams.com)
By far, the majority of TouchJams users do not mess with video. With the ones that do, yes there are some who have had difficulty getting things going, most have the problems resolved (I do handle tech support issues outside of this forum - support@touchjams.com). I'm not at liberty to discuss any details, but most, possibly all, of these video issues will be going away come end of the year. So, no need for pity as you stated above, there IS something being done about this.

Thanks for the response, its appreciated, i'll get the stats you asked for in a few days only its work for me now, but i know its 8gb ram, windows 10, klite standard, AVI video, k lite i just installed as it was... thanks again

Hi, thought i would give you my 2 cents worth, i have 4 PC's running Touchjams, and video works 100%, all of the time... Not all videos are created equal, people create them with strange codecs, especially AVI files. And also, where you "GET" them from can make a big difference with compatabillity. I use MP4 files for the best results, i have enclosed a link to download a LO Res test file.
I removed the above file.
Try your videos first outside of Touchjams, to confirm your SYSTEM can play them. If they play, then try to play them in Touchjams. Also try your tests with AUTODJ Disabled.

So, i updated touchjams, i reinstalled k lite basic, retsrted the computer running windows 10, i had added some music videos, it played 3 videos that i chose, all good i thought, so i took it into the mancave, hooked it up and not one video is playing, everytime i choose a video it crashes to desktop..i am now fecked off with this software, all my videos play through kodi, through VLC, yet this wont play anything, i am thinking this k lites a bag of shit, i shouldnt be getting frustrated with this, and i aint the only one with this issue, why in all this time is video not being looked into! My files are AVI, MP4 and a few FLV, i am looking at other options now

Reset the database and run update all on your video library, then try it. My experiance with "crashed to desktop" is its usually a messed up database. Reset the database, same issue, straight to the desktop, and as for your ' GET ' comment, how come everything else plays them no problem, this isnt just a ussue related to my set up, a LOT of folk seem to be having a problem. Perhaps you can tell us all where you GET all your videos since as per usual, your set up has videos working 100% all the time. And another thing, how come on the jukebox, if i want to search for artwork, no matter what i enter in the 3 boxes, it ALWAYS comes up with unable to connect to server!!

I was only trying to help you, i even uploaded a test video for you in October, but i had to remove it. Mine works, so if you can't get it to work, maybe you want to do a bit more research into video playback. I wont be replying to this thread anymore. Cheers Tony
